2) Practice of forensic medicine: Blood typing and genetics of ABO, MN and Rh blood types (Hiroko KIMURA), Identification and individualization of bloodstains, saliva-stains and semen-stains(Yukio ITOH ), Forensic scientific investigation of hair and DNA profiling (Yukio ITOH, Masaaki HARA)
3) Integrated fundamental medicine: General remarks of forensic toxicology and Carbon monoxide (Yukio ITOH), Corrosive poisons, drug and pesticides (Hiroko KIMURA),
4) Optional lecture:DNA profiling in forensic Science (Yukio ITOH),
5) Seminar of forensic medicine:Our seminar is planned for the students who are interested in learning about the role of forensic medicine studies in social life. They learn the subjects such as forensic autopsy, personal identification, paternity testing, and detection of illicit drugs through laboratory or clinical practice. They also learn advanced technology in the forensic science investigations, and it helps them to understand relations with the society and medical science. Research fields in this laboratory include serology and DNA polymorphisms, studies on oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, and development of highly sensitive immunoassay of biological materials.
