Admission Requirements
All applicants must have met or expect to meet one of the requirements listed below by March 31, 2020.
- Applicants who graduated from a medical or dental school in Japan
- Applicants who graduated from a 6 years veterinary or pharmaceutical school in Japan
- Applicants who have completed 18 years of formal education outside of Japan [Applicants must confirm they meet the requirements before applying*]
- Applicants who have completed 18 years of formal education from a distance learning course administered by a school outside of Japan while living in Japan [Applicants must confirm they meet the requirements before applying*]
- Applicants who graduated from an international school in Japan, whose curriculum corresponds to a country outside of Japan, but has been approved by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) [Applicants must confirm they meet the requirements before applying*]
- Applicants who
- a) graduated from an academic program at least 5 years in length at a school or university outside of Japan and
- b) obtained a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree [Applicants must confirm they meet the requirements before applying*]
b) Applicants who graduated from a distance learning course administered by a school outside of Japan while living in Japan or an international school in Japan, whose curriculum corresponds to a country outside of Japan and has been approved by MEXT are qualified to apply. - Applicants who have been approved by MEXT in accordance with MEXT Notice No. 39, including those who have completed a graduate school master's program or a doctorate program. Applicants are not restricted based on the major of degree they hold.

- Applicants who attended a medical, dental, pharmaceutical, or veterinary school over 4 years
- Applicants who graduated from a medical, dental, pharmaceutical, or veterinary school and meet the following requirements:
- Applicants who completed 16 years of formal education from a school outside of Japan
- Applicants who completed 16 years of formal education from a distance learning course administered by a school outside of Japan while living in Japan
- Applicants who graduated from an international school in Japan, whose curriculum corresponds to a country outside of Japan, but has been approved by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
- Applicants who are at least 24 years old and have the same academic achievements as graduates from a medical or dental school
[Working Adults Entrance Examination]
Applicants who meet the requirements mentioned above who are currently working must submit a letter of consent from their employer.
[Japanese Language Requirements (Excludes Special Permanent Residences)]
International applicants are not required to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) administered by the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES). International applicants who have passed the JLPT N5 (Level 4 on the previous format) or above are preferred.

International applicants living abroad may apply to the Graduate Program. Applicants must contact Juntendo University International Center (JUIC) to confirm that they meet the requirements.

The Graduate School Committee will examine whether the applicant meets the requirements. If the applicant is found to meet the requirements the application will automatically be submitted to the Entrance Examination. Applicants must submit all of the documents listed below.

Note 1: Applicants should indicate which subject they wish to take in the prescribed area of their applications.
Note 2: Applicants may bring a dictionary to the test, however electronic dictionaries and computers are prohibited.
[Language Examinations Exemption Conditions]
Applicants who meet one of the following four conditions will be exempted from taking the Language Examination. Applicants must submit the corresponding test certificate along with their application. The examination must have been taken after January 1, 2014. Students currently enrolled in Juntendo University, not including graduates, will automatically be exempted from taking the examination, their examination score from their first year will be used as a substitute.

Enrollment Period
Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine will send accepted applicants their letter of acceptance and enrollment application the day after the acceptance announcement is made. Students who wish to enroll in Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine will need to submit their enrollment application within the enrollment period corresponding with their entrance examination as listed below.

- Matriculation scholarship: applicants who have graduated from a Juntendo University undergraduate or graduate program, completed the initial stage of clinical training at Juntendo University, or work full time for Juntendo University may qualify for a 100,000JPY matriculation scholarship.
- Tuition Installment Payments: Admitted students who will not be able to pay their tuition and experiment training costs by the deadline may apply to pay for the expenses in two installments, if they submit a letter stating the reason. The matriculation fee must be paid by the deadline.
Financial Support
- Students who have outstanding academic results as well as excellent grades may be eligible to receive a tuition reduction.
- International students who may incur financial burdens as a result of attending the Graduate Program may receive a scholarship pending a review of their financial circumstances.
- The Research Assistant System is in place to strengthen and support the overall research system in Juntendo University, while helping to increase the research capabilities of graduate students through opportunities to participate in standardized research activities. Accepted applicants will receive a stipend dependent upon the amount of hours they work. (As of March 31, 2019)
Juntendo University will issue an official approval or rejection to Research Assistants. During the time that the student holds his or her position he or she may be subjected to evaluations of faculty or students.
- Juntendo University nominates international students for scholarships with outside organizations.
- Young researchers may be eligible to receive funds from the President's research funds to support their research costs.
- Students who enroll in an endowed department may be eligible for scholarships from the department. Students must have their scholarship officially approved by the university in the same way that Research Assistants' applications are approved.
