3. Application Eligibility
Those who are eligible to apply for the 2025 Master's Program must be one of the following and meet one of the criteria (1) through (9) below.
・Those who are recommended by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
・Those who are enrolled in or working at a university with which Juntendo University has an academic exchange agreement (MOU, Memorandum of Understanding), as well as graduates and alumni of such universities.
(Please refer to the website of the Graduate School of Health Care and Nursing for a list of the universities with which Juntendo University has academic exchange agreements)
- Applicants who have graduated from a course in nursing or health science at a university in Japan or are expected to graduate by the time of admission.
- Applicants who have been granted a bachelor's degree (in nursing or health science) by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education pursuant to the provisions of Article 104, Clause 7 of the School Education Act, or applicants who are expected to be granted a bachelor's degree (in nursing or health science) by the institution by the time of admission.
- A person who has completed or is expected to complete 16 years of schooling (with the last course taken being either nursing or health science) in a foreign country by the time of admission.
*1 Applicants must confirm they meet the preliminary confirmation of eligibility. - Applicants who have completed or are expected to complete 16 years of schooling (with the last course taken being either nursing or health science) by a distance learning course administered by a school outside of Japan, while living in Japan by the time of admission.
- Applicants who have graduated from an educational institution (restricted to graduates of nursing or health care science) in Japan that is recognized by a country outside of Japan as corresponding to the university curriculum in that country’s educational system (restricted to curriculum whose graduates are considered to have completed 16 years of school education in that country), and which has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Locations in Japan of a Foreign University designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), or applicants who are expected to have completed such a course by the time of admission.
- Applicants who have obtained a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree (in nursing or health care science) by graduating from an academic program at least 3 years in length a) at a school or university outside of Japan, b) or applicants that are expected to have obtained such a degree by the time of admission.
*1 Applicants must confirm they meet the preliminary confirmation of eligibility.
a) Applicants who have graduated from a distance learning course administered by a school outside of Japan while living in Japan or from an international school in Japan, whose curriculum corresponds to a country outside of Japan and has been approved as per the previous item (Locations in Japan of a Foreign University designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) are also qualified to apply.
b) Applicants must have graduated from an institution certified by a government or accreditation institution outside of Japan that reviews academic and research activities, or that has been approved by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology - Applicants who have completed, or are expected to complete by the time of admission, a specialized course of study at an advanced vocational school (limited to those satisfying the requirement that the term of study is four years or more and other standards specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (List of Training Institutes Designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) on or after the day designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
- Applicants who have completed a course in nursing science or a course in health care science at a former education school, etc. (1953 Ministry of Education Notification No. 5, Nos. 1 to 4, 1955 Ministry of Education Notification No. 39, No. 1).
*1 Applicants must confirm they meet the preliminary confirmation of eligibility. - Applicants who are recognized by this graduate school through individual screening of eligibility for admission as having scholastic ability equivalent to or higher than that of university graduates and who will be 22 years of age by the time of admission (applicants who do not fall under 1 to 8 above but hold a license for either Public Health Nurse, Midwife, or Nurse, and has professional experience of engaging in work that requires such licenses for 3 years or more at the time of application [selection of working adults], etc.).

4. Application Requirements
Persons must meet one of the following language requirements and can submit the corresponding test certificates (in principal, such certificate must be based on or after May 1,2022).
1) TOEFL iBT : 60 or above
2) IELTS 5.5 or above
3) TOEIC 600 or above

【Precautions】
All examinations will be conducted over the Internet, so an Internet connection test will be conducted beforehand. The timing and the other details of the connection test will be decided after applications have been received and applicants will be advised thereafter.

◎ Self-funded international students may be exempted from part of their tuition fees based on the Juntendo University International Student Scholarship Benefits Regulations.
◎ In principle, payments already made will not be refunded. However, those who have submitted a notice of withdrawal of enrollment and a request for refund of deposit will be refunded payment, excluding the matriculation fee, if they have applied for withdrawal of enrollment by 12:00 (JST) on September 22, 2025.
12. Notes
- After the application has been received, the entrance examination fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Applicants who are expected to graduate but fail to do so, their admission will be revoked even if they have been accepted.

13. Degree Conferred
Persons who have acquired the designated credits from the Graduate School of Health Care and Nursing (Master's Program) at Juntendo University Graduate School, and who have passed the review of their thesis and the final examination will be awarded the Master's in Nursing degree.
14. Curriculum
- Classes will be held at the Urayasu Campus and Hongo-Ochanomizu Campus. Some courses will also be offered at the Mishima Campus.

15. Completion Requirements
The requirements for completion at the Graduate School of Health Care and Nursing (Master's Program) are as follows: a student enrolled in the course for at least 2 years; acquired a total of at least 30 credits consisting of at least 8 credits from the general subjects, including 4 credits from compulsory subjects; at least 10 credits from specialized subjects; and at least 8 credits from practice and research guidance, including 4 credits from general subjects; and submitting a master's thesis or research thesis upon having received the required research supervision, and pass the review and final examination.
Please receive guidance from your academic advisor in advance when choosing subjects. The enrollment period may be shortened for those who have achieved excellent research results and have been enrolled for at least one year.
