The Laboratory of Radioisotope Research is the radiation facility which is regulated by Laws and Ordinances. The Laboratories are isolated as a radiation safety controlled area. In Juntendo University, no one is allowed to handle, keep, store, or dispose of any radioactive materials outside of this area. When using radioisotopes, the single most important issue is the assurance of safety.

The outline of Radioisotope Research (RIR)

The RIR was originally founded in 1959. After several changes, the RIR was reestablished in October 2003 as a facility of Biomedical Research Center of Juntendo University.

Rooms and area

Only permitted users can unlock the door of the entrance and the RI storage room. Lab rooms and areas are separated according to the radiation safety level. Based on reservations, officer assigns the appropriate area/bench for each investigator or user group. In this area, 23 kinds of Radioisotopes are available for use as below.
